This is primarily a Tulane football blog, although I do occasionally comment on all matters Tulane that may or may not be any of my business. I love following Tulane Greenwave football, zing-zang Bloody Marys, hostessing cute tailgating parties, and life in New Orleans. It's fabulous. oh and I adore Mr. Hullabaloo. PS This blog is not affiliated in any way "officially" with Tulane University or Tulane Athletics. It is purely the crazy antics and obsessions of Mr. and Mrs. Hullabaloo who love them some greenwave (I say tee-ay (!) y'all).

Well that BLOWS

Ay yay yay!

Talk about going "cold turkey" after a high. We got blow-ed by the "Snow" birds (get it, ha ha). Yes, the drug jokes abounded yesterday. a 3rd and 1, was 3rd and a blunt. "Just Say No" etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

But lawd have mercy, I really did wake up this morning and last night really did happen. And I really did spend the night at my monster in law's to come see this. It was not a drug fueled nightmare.

Mrs. Hullabaloo's list of things that totally blow:

1. Being more specific when requesting a takeaway derby.

More takeaways by Lorenzo Doss, please.

....Oh, but for lack of clarification.

2. Forgetting My Roll Wave Button. In my rush to get to the game, I left behind my Roll Wave button in our hotel room.

I coulda/shoulda dispatched Coach Hullabaloo back to get it. I even had the sinking feeling at tailgating that I didn't have it and bad things would happen and I tried to brush off the feeling. I should have known better! I'm going to get it permanently implanted onto my body. Or tattoo'd. Or both.

The one on the right I'ma tie to the back of my bumper and drag it all the way back to New Orleans, run over a few times in my driveway and then torch in a ceremonial ritual. My original plan was to wear it proudly to yesterday's game and to Rice in a few weeks. But evil is attached to it now so it must be destroyed.

3. EX-CUSA REFS!!!! Grrrr.....

You cannot not assess a penalty. Or review a review! Lawd have mercy do Ex-Cusa refs blow. Zach's daddy was yellin "HEY REFS, ARE YOU SMOKING SOMETHING!" .....har har

4. Tammy Nunez patronizing articles. Hula skirts and coconut dreams? Lorenzo Doss impersonator? I aint' sayin, but I am just sayin. She just loooooves all her witty little sayings she gets to come up with for when we lose. I still can't believe how awesomely funny she thought she was last year when she was caught off camera at the Coach's press conference bashing the Greenwave and giggling about how John Curtis could beat Tulane. She's just sooo funny y'all!

I'ma start calling her Sporty Nunez like that turd reporter from Cinderella Man. I can picture her writing "The only time the Wave was on it's feet was walking into the stadium...." this would so be something only Sporty Nunez could write.

4. Tropical Stadiums. Ok. weather patterns in tropical stadiums suck. I'd love to blame the weather on our interception rally, but I can still complain about it. It was absolutely sweltering and stagnant hot the first half, but nothing we aren't used to in September. And then just like that at the half it was like hurricane gale winds kicked in during the entire FAU momentum swing. Like weather was the FAU 12th man. Only to die down into a peaceful evening breeze as the final minutes ticked off the clock and our loss looming over us like a bad hangover. It was completely biblical. And reminiscent of that completely cray game we had in Hawaii.

Another thing like Hawaii was the FAU dance team. Lawd. Cover your husband's eyes.

The twerking they incorporated into their "Shake Your Groove Thang" halftime routine should have come with a "suitable for mature audiences only" warning. I am serious. Big Fredia woulda banned it for inappropriateness.

5. The demise of this game day maxi dress. The colors are so perfect. Now I can never wear it again.

This picture is at the mini "beach" that they have at FAU's stadium with a misting system. I was jealous. Oh, and those butt curved stadium bleachers that TPTB is carrying on about that's supposed to also be installed at Yulfogelmevlin: overrated. My ass still ends up sore even with ergonomic butt bleachers.

I wore this dress to the 2011 Hawaii game. And now I am definitively never wearing it again (well, ......maybe. but I would agree with Coach Jones on classifying it as "ineffective" and therefor banished from ever seeing the light of day ever again. Like the "Roll Wave Roll" cheer).

6. All Access and 106.1. Just sayin! I hope the Greenies don't give up on whining and complaining to TPTB. A proper football team deserves to meet at least minimal standards in the media/broadcast department. Enough with the mickey mouse operation with rabbit ears, chewing gum, and coffee cans tied with string to only then get cut out by a high school game, puh-lease. Or 50 minutes of commercials during a 60 minute radio show. THIS IS UNPROFESSIONAL.

For as small as a fan base as we are, we don't ask for much: a decent team, a decent broadcast. and a decent bowl game while we're aksin'. (ok. ok. I'm pushing it, I know.)

7. Homecoming "Miracles". I know that the team and the coaches are eager to accept blame and move on, but I need to work this out of my system a bit. BECAUSE I WAS THERE IN 2007 AT ARMY! Sitting in those crap seats in the endzone. Leading 17-7 and then losing!!!

This should be a glorious morning in South Florida, except that here we are. Reminiscing about how we managed to hand a downtrodden team a homecoming "miracle" at the end of the game. Coach L's wife and I were just so smug at tailgating laughing about that ruinous "Michie Miracle" officiating that handed Army that win (he was out of bounds!!!!). Clearly tempting fate and the impending doom that was to befall us in a few short hours. And against a team that didn't exist a few shorts years ago. We are getting good at that.

Now there's going to be all these "Miracle at FAU Homecoming" videos to look forward to for posterity. Yay!

.....Sigh.

IHTFP

IHTFP....

Coach Hullabaloo used to tolerate it. But no more.

What is IHTFP? Well, you need to read Jarhead the book. or be a Marine. And listen my chickens, Mrs. Hullabaloo loved marines. Thankfully God is good and gave me a great Marine as a husband.

Why do IHTFP? Cause our weekends at "Tulane North" (quote by Rick Dickson) are just soooooo predictable. Let me count the ways:

1. Rick Dickson and Scott Cowen both have a higher tolerance threshold for bull than moi. That's predictable. We'll see what excuse is trotted out this week and deemed acceptable.

2. Army Refs are awesome! They are so on top of it! Dusting off every arcane penalty call in the playbook. They even closed out Army's final extra point at the end of the game and gave Tulane a penalty for "illegal substitution." WTH was that about? I thought Coach Hullabaloo was going to go beat up one of the Zebras when they didn't call a late hit penalty on Army, because they are perfect in every way. I even saw little Coach Bobby T burst a blood vessel screaming at the refs over that one. I say little, cause from our vantage point in the endzone seats - he looked tiny.

3. Army's coaches are always so classy! and didn't you just love, love how they put the student section with the band directly behind our bench? and could just jump out and about amongst our line to do their stupid push ups? Clearly, there's no arcane penalty call for that. Because they are perfect in every way.

4. Oh, but I also ♥ Army's play announcer. Most schools think that it would be sufficient to say "Orleans Darkwa, 5 yards on the carry. Tackled by #9 John Doe" But no, not at Army. Here the superlatives abound. This sounds so much better and descriptive: "John Doe, just flying out and stuffing and stopping that run in an astounding manner! Obliterating all hope for Orleans Darkwa to make a first down! Oh yes, I guess it's 3rd and 2. Everybody stand up and make noise!

4. It is just sooo awesome to hear Tulane Alumni say "It is really hard to be a Tulane Alumni." for reals that was heard in the stands. Even David Skeehan turned his Tulane shirt inside out.

Coach and Mrs. Hullabaloo were very lucky (no sarcasm, I mean this) and got to have dinner the night before the game with some of the defensive line members of the 98 team. These guys were enormous, I can't think of any of our players who compare in size. Buddy Teevens was apparently an excellent recruiter. Some of them played pro with AFC teams. For the game they had matching hoodies with their numbers stitched on the sleeves and "Greenwave" on the hood, it was totally Hullabaloo Huddle-worthy. I loved it, loved it. I woulda taken a picture to share, but you know when your Coach calls sissy and predictable plays, your team is all around unprepared, Army just oozes class, and the Zebras are insufferable, I couldn't fault them for leaving at the beginning of the third quarter before I could corner them for a photo opportunity.

...but anyways y'all, what is most alarming about this game is that Dickson is bummed Army wants to cancel the contract til 2015.

Who wouldn't want more of this?! Sign me up!

Calling In The Big Guns

Bobfather, who art a Greenie,
Shaughnessy be thy name.
Thy play be run, thy game be won,
At home, as it is away.
Give us this Saturday our gameday win.
And forgive us our turnovers,
Though let us Ponce de Leon on those who
Turnover against us.
And lead us not into 4th & long,
but deliver us from false starts.
In the name of the Cairo, the Strozier
And the Holy Mackey.
For Dezman to have the Glory....
ROLL WAVE ROLL!!

I am serious! (not really, this is a satire, so don't freak out y'all). But I felt I needed to lighen up the mood a little with us being 2-2 and going in to Army (kill me now).

(and Yes I know Oscar Ponce de Leon graduated, but I just had to take advantage of subbing his name for "pounce" in the prayer.)

So Peggy helped me put the little black voodat doll together. I made the greenie voodat doll and the football rosary. I wanted to get a plastic menorah, but I just felt bad about treading on that by going to the JCC and buying a real one. I figured God would have a sense of humor and forgive me for using one I printed out online and cut out.

So in other news: I went shopping at the bookstore today and they had these a-dorable scarves.

I totally snatched one up since it's supposed to be rainy, cold and just dreary at West Point this weekend. Oy vey.

Hope you enjoyed my attempt at getting some spiritual cleansing happening in time for this weekend ~

I "BELIEVE" IN TAILGATING!

Yes I do.

and anybody who doesn't is unAmerican.

Some football fans have Fantasy Football to get their minds right for Football season. I don't begrudge you Fantasy Ballers. I can visit your world and hang. But there's just no way around it: Tailgating+Football is e-ssential. and Tent Chandeliers are de riguer (My new chandelier arrived yesterday and I am SO excited!).

I don't understand those who claim that color coordinated table linens and proper serving trays for hostessing a Tulane Tailgate is a "waste of time" and impedes their enjoyment of Football. Eu nao fallam sua lingua. I couldn't hang in your world. I'm a bride who registered for silver and fine china. I also have "in between" china for when the everyday china is too casual. Cute tailgating accutrements are, therefor, essential to properly ritualizing the Football Gods. I don't understand people who say having proper china is "impractical." It's impractical in my opinion to eat like slobs.

Plus it's my civic responsibility to educate my fellow Tulane alumni about the intricasies of this past time. Archangel Raphael appeared to me in a dream and said "Mrs. Hullabaloo go forth and celebrate. Dare to flaunt an open flame in front of Dome security. It is your destiny."

and I have obliged.

Plus these tablescapes are just too cute to not copy.

After Southeastern and Tulsa, we go on the road and here are links to sign up for Tailgating in Birmingham, Duke and Army (kill me now).

Birmingham Tailgating (click for link) is $30 for over 21 adults and $20 for chirrens and kids. Location is TBA, but don't worry Mrs. Hullabaloo will be on top of it.

Duke Tailgating (click for link) is $40 for tailgating buffet (fried chicken, burgers, hot dogs, sodas, and Abita suds). Location is also TBA.

Army Tailgating (Kill me now) is $35 for a tailgating buffet (fried chicken, brat sandwiches, and a nice bar with wine and beer). Tulane is also offering a round trip bus from the Cornell club for $35pp. Tulane tailgating is on the "Marching Field" - which just looks like a big soccer field if you ask me. It's at the base of the mountain where their decrepit stadium sits precariously perched over the Hudson. If you come in the main gate - there's the one big patch of land that is flat and there's the one big parking lot. (No, I am not a fan of Army. Get over it.)

So despite ruining my mind thinking about Army, Coach and Mrs. Hullabaloo were able to make the Fan Day festivities yesterday and properly welcome the ushering in of Tailgating and Football season: SQUEAL!

Sweet Baby Jesus was fabulous and the smoke from the Bayou Sauvage fires shifted with the winds and cleared up for a wonderfully scorching evening out on the Westfeldt turf. They had sno cones, Pita Pit, Domino's and a DJ. The players were available to sign posters.

I cut in line (my Town Daughter, Chickadee, was in line for me. Kinda like how it happens at Galatoire's) and got the players to sign my posters. I was cracking up Chickadee bantering with the players. One of them didn't believe me that I knew their mother. Like I'm full of crap or something.

I asked that the players sign my posters "To Mrs. Hullabaloo", which they did.

Dezman Moses was the best sport in dedicating his signature to "Mrs. Hullabaloo." I loved it. (thank you for humoring this crazy lady)

I even instructed Orleans Darkwa how to pose. and he obliged. See.

We also got to chat with one of the freshman players from St. Aug who said that he would be happy if we went 10-3, like that would be sufficient enough for him. LMAO. He has no idea that New Orleans would just about break away off into the Gulf due to the celebrations a record like that would cause in the city.

Anyways thank you Greenies for a fun evening! Now go out and hang a W on the Ham-land Lions!

Roll Wave!

The Search for "Anonymous_Tulanian"

I am on a mission y'all. and if there's one thing you, my dear readers, may learn from reading my drivel is that I am stupid stubborn. It drives Coach Hullabaloo nuts what I do and say sometimes. But I am persistent when I get my brain on something. Anyways, I'll let y'all know what I am up to in a moment.

So things have been a little unsettled in the Hullabaloo world the past few days. Instead of the anticipation-laden weeks leading up to football season with pre-tailgate paloozas and new recipe sharing, new outfits and such, the tubes are just awash in some soul searching discussions about the state of our football program.

Under condition of anonymity (just kidding, I just say this cause it makes it sound like I did some official investigating, which I did not. Nope, just your everyday New Orleans gossiping to blame) Mrs. Hullabaloo has learned that TPTB has hired The Aspire Group to lead their ticket selling and marketng efforts. Outsourced that task to "Experts." The search for a brand new Ticket Guru and Ticket Intern is underway. An Aspire consultant was brought in to New Orleans and a roundtable held with different factions of the Greenie Dat Nation: students, local fans, former athletes, and faculty for concerns and suggestions.

Clearly, Mrs. Hullabaloo has too many unvarnished opinions, so I was not included in these discussions. But the discussion seemed to have been interestng nonetheless without Mrs. Hullabaloo's input. I don't know if Aspire invited members of the Tulane family who do not attend games, because I think that discussion may have been more interesting in lieu of hearing Greenie Dats beat a dead horse.

First of all: are you sitting down? Because you need to be sitting down for this. I found out that Big Mike is the holder of a bonafide Bachelor of Arts in English from The Tulane University of Louisiana. Holy Facundus, right? What's more: on a full scholarship. Yes ma'am! And is the son of a former Tulane football player. That his father was a football player wasn't such a shocking discovery as that Big Mike is a multi-faceted individual. See: this is what I love about die hard Greenie Dats. Who knew, right? When I called Coach Hullabaloo and continued the gossip wheel about the Aspire Roundtables, halfway through my discourse he interrupted me and said "Hold On. I'm still trying to get over that Big Mike was an English major." Talk about LMAO.

All of the usual laundry list items were brought up with these poor Aspire consultants who I don't know quite expected the barrage of dysfunction that entails being a member of the Greenie Dat Nation. See, I'm not the only one with a complaint or something to say. While I bleed olive and blue and love it fiercely, this is hard work not just to endure foolishness, but you've got to have a the nose of an ardvark to uncover cute Greenwave gear in the market place, and master gameday tailgating under challenging conditions. I swear I don't know how Coach Toledo is able to remain a gentleman at all times and refrain from running screaming down Willow Street. But I pray to sweet baby Jesus that I be blessed his demeanor and manners sometimes. Cause this frustration can get the better of Mrs. Hullabaloo on more than one occasion.

As you know from my earlier post, Ticket sales is just but a mere symptom of larger systemic issues that have been documented on the Greenie Dat internet tubes all over. I need not rehash.

So then next on the list is that it came to Mrs. Hullabaloo's attention that Outreach Tulane is the same day as our opening game against Southeastern. You can just imagine that Mrs. Hullabaloo was fit to be tied, especially after this stadium size and 90% fundraising business and the stirring up of emotions from the Roundtables. Yes, I know that I may end up straight in hell for considering that a football game has higher priority than carrying out God's work thru charity. But as a well-raised Texas Girl I feel I have got my priorities straight.

(I feel like a stern parent here lecturing an unruly child. You WILL go to Tailgate. You WILL watch the Game. and You WILL enjoy it. I don't care if you don't wanna. Hilarious, right? LOL!)

Listen, Mrs. Hullabaloo is refusing a FREE trip in November to the very beautiful Buenos Aires to attend a baby christening (for the lovely couple who ruined the 2009 UTEP game for me by deciding to get married during football season). There is nothing in this world that I love (besides my husband. and my fur babies. and yes, of course the Wave) than good food eatin' and good shopping. Buenos Aires has these in spades. You have to want to find bad food and bad shopping in Buenos Aires. Yes Mrs. Hullabaloo will not budge. I do not take extraneous vacations during football season. It is too critical. I had surgery once the morning of a game and went anyways.

Now, to be fair - the ever-patient and hardworking, Jason Potuto and staff at the Wilson Center is working with Outreach to get kids to the dome in time for a tailgate lunch and then we all need to collectively hope and pray that the chirren actually stay to support and cheer the team.

But this is the tide that Greenie Dats labor with. So you can understand how frustrating it is to compete against a volunteer program that pulls hundreds and hundreds of students, faculty and family out to go paint an elementary school. Yes I will burn in hell for feeling this way. These wonderful and blessed souls are moving heaven and earth to do good will towards man. But it has to be on game day? and I can't help but wondering why the same fervor can't be made to round up these crowds to go say "We Support You" to their fellow classmates and students who represent them. It is quite a pickle.

Not all Tulane faculty is dense in the football schedule department. Waveprofessora is an exceptional exception to the general rule. I do love her and her Tailgating Krewe.

But all of this leads me to the title of today's post. WHO IS THIS MISGUIDED FACULTY PERSON AT TULANE? click to read his Nola.com comments. I am on a mission my fellow Greenie Dats. You must help me find this individual and stage an intervention! Putting all of his misinformation aside, can you believe what he said about the athletes? Or that he is annoyed by the offer for Free Tickets (well, then give them to me!)? Talk about OMG.

So Picture this: Mrs. Hullabaloo hosting Anonymous_Tulanian at a Hullabaloo Huddle tailgating. Serving him one of our fabulous tailgate concoctions, some of Priscilla's world famous brisket. and watching him eat his words. Or better yet - filling up his office with Greenwave gift baskets until he can bear it no longer. Or taping his eyes open and forcing him to watch the 98 season DVD over and over. Or The Greatest Play Never Made (Tulane-LSU 2009). Or Alex Carlton kicking WIDE RIGHT!

I'm on a mission - I am gonna find this character and kill him with kindess! My goal is to one day do a SuperFan profile on Anonymous_Tulanian.

You just see.

Let's Digress

Yes, Let's Digress!

Orlando is boring and pristine. New Orleans is scuzzy (but we love it so!). UCF fans are an embarassment. UCF marked their only top 25 appearance by promptly losing to USM (snicker!). Shasta is a silly mascot name. Crazy Ole Miss Fanettes dress and apply makeup in the dark. Tulsans eat corn. Yes, these are things we know....

But seriously, I do want to digress. I want digress all the way back to Mrs. Hullabaloo's favorite moments in Tulane Athletics ....

Enjoy! (thank you to Noladave and FanBase for the photos)

Favorite Things

One of my favorite things: Tulane Not Playing at Army - yay! While we still have this wretched team on the schedule (why? why? why?!), hopefully we can finally fling them sometime soon. Temple, Penn State, Maryland, UConn ... anyone?

One of my guilty pleasures this past summer was The Bachelorette (Frank was such a fraud!) and Bethenny's Getting Married. I totally heart Bethenny Frankel and her sassiness! Mrs. Hullabaloo and Mrs. Frankel-Hoppy SO would have been friends had she been a Newcomb Girl in the early 90's.

As any good Newcomb Girl does, I heart New York! Being from New York or loving New York is an absolute prerequisite of being affiliated with Tulane. We are so lucky to be an outpost enclave of The City at Tulane. It's reason #210 why Tulane is the best school EVAH!

So Bethenny's wedding planner, the infinitely patient, Shawn Rabideau, posted a list of his favorite things to do in New York and I am so excited to try some of these on his list for Tulane's away game at Rutgers next weekend this football season.

I always do "my" favorite things to do when I go to NYC (The Strand, Century 21, H&M, Pearl River Market and Zara's), so I was happy to read Shawn's recommend list and be inspired to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. Such as creating the gumbo-like Matzo Ball Soup at Stein's Deli on Magazine (another one of my favorite things about Tulane and New Orleans)

So here, Tulane fans traveling to Rutgers, are some of Shawn's Favorite Spots in The City in no particular order:
1. Ardesia Wine Bar - Can't get enough of this Hell's Kitchen wine bar! Great wine, great food and happy hour from 5pm to 7pm Mon-Fri!

2. Favorite Burger - "5 Napkin Burger" Too many good things to list, but you MUST try their sushi…yes, they serve that too!

3. Limelight Marketplace – it’s just cute! (Exclamtion Point! Mrs. Hullabaloo is ALL over this shopping suggestion. STAT!)

4. Who doesn’t love pizza? Run to one of Shawn's all time favorite spots Johns Pizzeria. It’s a great Times Square spot that offers a quality meal for a quality price. Perfect for before or after the theater. (Speaking of Pizza, Mo's Pizza in Marrero displays a signed Patrick Ramsey helmet as that was his favorite pizza joint in Nola.)

5. Shawn's favorite Meatpacking District eats – Son Cubano and Fig & Olive. To die for! (Mr. and Mrs. Hullabaloo always do the same old, same old in the Meatpacking District: One. and we are ashamed to admit we have never, ever been to the One right here in Riverbend in New Orleans.)

6. One of Shawn's all time favorite Italian restaurants, Il Vagabondo is a hidden gem on the east side. Directly out of “The Godfather” with a full Bocce Court, this place has the most amazing lasagna you’ve ever tasted!

8. If you like paper and stationery run to Paper Presentations. It’s like the Baskin Robbins of Stationery! (Did someone say Stationery?)

9. If you like Red Velvet Cake and fresh baked bread like I do, Shawn recommends any of Amy’s Bread locations throughout the city. They have the best fresh baked goods you’ve ever tasted. Perfect for the holidays! Get your order in early because the good stuff goes fast! (No holiday needed for Red Velvet Cake!)

10. Like cupcakes…Forget about waiting in line at some of the Cupcake Stop locations, you can shop online CupCakeStop.com and ship some of their amazing flavors such as French Toast with Maple Syrup and bacon…AMAZING!

11. Looking to have a cocktail with an amazing view? Go to the Mandarin Oriental Lobby Lounge. Fantastic drinks with a fantastic view of Central Park. Perfect anytime of the year! (Coach and Mrs. Hullabaloo are big fans of Mandarin Oriental and their impeccable service)

12. Who knew you could have cocktails in the library? Well you can at the Hudson Hotel's Library Bar. The perfect atmosphere after work or before hitting the town!

13. Like chocolate? Run to La Masion du Chocolat. They have the MOST exquisite chocolates Shawn has ever tasted in the city!

14. Although it’s name doesn’t do it justice, the Frying Pan located off of 26th Street and the West Side Highway is a “hot spot” of sorts. An old light ship (now converted to a bar) that is on the registrar of historic places, is something fun and out of the ordinary.

So Tulane Fans, let's do something out of the ordinary and bring us back a win!

The Penny Takes Manhattan

I found a companion on the streets of Manhattan for Lucky Penny.
Our famous Lucky Penny from the McNeese game flew to New York with us. Here he is pre-game at Dumpie Stadium.

What a great weekend! After the Army win, Mr. and Mrs. Hullabaloo carried the festivities over to the Doubletree Hotel in Montvail, NJ with some other Tulane fans. And We Had ourselves a Ball!

I think we scared all of the reunion-goers from Old Tappan High School, but Adam, our bartender extraordinaire tended to our every want and whim. Full service dinner? sure! Kept our wine glasses full and even shared with us this delicious Key Lime Shooter
1 oz Licor 43 liqueur
1/2 oz white rum
1 oz sweet and sour mix
1/4 oz Rose's lime juice
1/2 oz half-and-half

delish! especially after a win!!

Wide Right!!!

We in New Orleans are Fashionably Prepared for all Weather Eventualities....

Mr. and Mrs. Hullabaloo...a glorious weekend in New York

Jeremy Williams running his tail off to the goal line...

One official throws a flag (see bottom right corner by the goal post), but we're playing at the Cheater Bowl, so it gets picked up. Never Mind! No penalty on Army. They are Perfect in Every Way.

Except when #19 shanks one WIDE RIGHT!!!! Can't do nothing about that refs: Take That!
Game Over...ha ha!

Hullabaloo ray ray!

and this one belongs to the WAVE!

Graf's play-by-play on the missed field goal by Army will forever go down in history as THE classic Tulane Football moment.

Transcript follows:

Graf: "All right...here we go again...Kolin Walk is gonna hold. Carson Homme is gonna snap it. 37 yards, right in the middle of the field, folks. If he makes it, we lose. If he misses, we win....Snap back. Spot down. Kick is away....[crowd roars] and...IT'S NO GOOD! HE WENT WIDE RIGHT! HE WENT WIDE RIGHT!! IT IS NO GOOD! IT IS NO GOOD! TULANE IS GONNA WIN THIS GAME! YEAH BABY!

Barrios: oh my.

Graf: Exorcise the Demons Baby! IT IS NO GOOD!

Barrios: one for the good guys.

Graf: OH BABY! That's all I can say! That Thing Never Had a Chance! I don't believe it! I don't! oooh!

Barrios: [more mumbling]

Graf: Victory formation, Kemp. Take a Knee! Take a Knee! 4-3-2-1! THIS ONE BELONGS TO THE WAVE! FIRE THAT CANNON OFF! Joe Kemp is on his knees in elation at the 13 yard line. He cannot believe it. Who would believe it? How many have gone against us folks? What a comeback by the Tulane Greenwave! Your final score: Tulane 17, Army 16. We are knotted up at 2 wins, 2 losses as we head to homecoming next week. Does that sound familiar? Army, I tell you, we say we know how they feel is an u nderstatement. But, Oh Well. Army drops to 2 and 3. Steve? I'm fired up right now!

Barrios: [mumbling]
